In the vastness of the warp, something stirred. There was a thread of annoyance within the astropath. Something that should not be possible was happening, he just couldn't describe exactly what. There was an evil, a very ancient evil. Blood everywhere, flames, piles of skulls, demons laughing.
At the center of the vision. A iron shod casket. It was bound with ancient inscriptions. Chains of solid silver wrapped it. Summoning rituals and stone tablets surrounded the scene in his mind. A zealot was kneeling in front of this evil sarcophagus. The figure looked up, almost like he could see the astropath through the warp and smiled. It was a face that was old and scarred. There were fresh cuts along his forehead and cheeks. Blood was everywhere, pooled on the floor in front of him. Urns filled with human skulls were burning in the room as well. The astropath could almost smell the flesh being cooked off of them.
Through the psychic connection the figure spoke to him. "I was wondering when I would attract attention enough for the lapdogs of the dead god to pay attention. Watch young idiot and learn, this is what real power is!" The figure then brandished a huge war axe above his head and struck down on the silver chains binding the casket. The chains were sundered under the massive blow and the lid fell open. He saw the man stand over the sarcophagus as a huge arm shot up from inside gripping the throat of him. A flex of the hand sent his head shooting up off of the body in a shower of arterial spray. There was a cry of absolute rage within the vision.
Sometime later the astropath came back to his senses. He was in the infirmary aboard the massive cruiser of the Ultra Marines. A librarian was bending over him with a quizzical look on his face. The astropath sat up and cried, " He has returned! The destroyer of the Enfuego sector has been reincarnated and all is lost!" His head then exploded in a blood spray that covered the room.
"Servitor, fetch the squeegee -!"
ReplyDeleteAwesome Dale.
Is it zombie zazdakka?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're enjoying it. It's and open ended taste of a little of what I have in mind. Use it as you will of course, but it should be easy enough to go right into most stories and then just fold the map campaign right in.
ReplyDeleteMore later for sure.
