A bit of inspiration has hit me post big game. The rot has called and I can't wait to get into it hip deep. To get you up to speed, I've had a nurgle army for at least as decade now( a lot more actually) and it's been shelved for various reasons we don't have to get into. Now there is a codex! I've been waiting for traitor legion codexes for many moons now and this is more than I could hope for. There is even info on the current legion status post Horus heresy and color schemes for the various off shoots. I am going to do a cross between the weeping legion and the tainted sons chapters. This is going to be an army with a lot of just stand there in the middle of the field of battle and as enemies get closer, they take wounds because of the stinkyness and all of grandfather Nurgle's gifts hitting them. It will be a mixture of all kinds models from all different era's of 40k.
So.... without further ado....

Project Mayhem. (Afterword)
Let me begin by relaying all of the events that constructed Project Mayhem.
Dalecon, DBGOLD (don't be gay on Labor Day), Rockcon,(now known as Snakecon), and the Big game weekend itself.
Throughout all of these events there were things that were part of my attempt to actually create a Big Game that everyone would be able to enjoy, and to bring back some old relics from the past and resurrect them for use in the future.
The first step that I could come up with was to try and attempt to get everyone on the same page with the information about these events. That began my dive into the cyber world that produced my very own blog page, breakout onto Facebook, and the creation of D-co's own map world.
The next was to give a common enemy that would spark interest from both old and new members. Eth Mongul's rise was an answer that turned out to be the right one. It allowed me to revisit an old and very broken army that had been collecting dust for over a decade. It also brought back memories of big games of the past. The freezer game, Redeemer, The bridge..... all of these came up from time to time during the revup to the main event.
I had everything in hand and then the unthinkable actually happened, GW unleashed 8th edition and everything changed. The whole freaking medium from the get go and it sent me spinning a bit, but the base plan was still intact. We had 2 teams, communication with as many members as I could get to, a place to fight over, and a THING to fight over. So far so good.
Dalecon had to be adjusted a bit because most people at that point had not played the new edition yet. So I changed it into events that I would set up and see if anybody was interested in playing them. DBGOLD went to the creative uses of the generals and the map point structure itself. There was a cause and effect going on that weekend that was the start of the real struggle for the storyline.
Rockford was when I truely lost my mind with the planning stages. I had more things in mind than those that actually happened. Mostly because of the poorness of the site and some poor planning on my part, a lot of what I had in mind for that weekend had to be shelved. There was a bigger game that had multiple people on it that finished however.
After the Snakefest debacle, I spent a very long time coming to grips with the one thing that is true. I just don't think that my aspirations were attainable the way I was going about it, and it was heading full steam at that point. That was when I started playing with the idea of a smaller version of the big game in points, but all of us playing on the same board, at the same time.
Now I am not going to go in to critique this event, that job is for all of you reading this, but I will tell you all that I had the time of my life doing all of this. We did everything from cyber movie clip making to cooking a pig. There were over 90 games played and scored for the map. Pictures and battle reports have been made. We even managed to get the fund going again for future endeavors. A new game was introduced to be played at the big game, and battles were being reported on in realtime. I believe this might be the biggest turnout as well. This was freaking great and I hope all of you have enjoyed yourselves.
I will be available for the next 'host' of the big game as a consultant and support person. The map can be accessed as well. Terrain, hotel support, players are all something to get through me and the channels that have been set up. If you don't know them by now, then you aren't supposed to.
Later dudes, rock on!

Eth Mongu'l finished
After 8 months of work, he's finally done with all of his minions. I am really glad that I got to redo these guys after 20 years. It's been fun just to remodel things up and repainted old things thought long finished. I have upgraded my supplies and painting schemes again, and now I'm ready to do it again this upcoming year with Nurgle as well.

The actual Big game at big game 2018
It's taken me a bit to create this, but all of you should have a blast.
1. This will happen at around 5:30 on Saturday.
2. You will need a 35pl list of the most broken, cheesy, unfair things you can come up with.
3. This fight will happen on the special board that will be apparent when you get to the big game.
4. I'm not expecting this game to go more than 2 rounds or about 2 hours.
5. There will be a victor at the end of it.
The 35pl list that you will be able to create will have the following exceptions to it...... Nothing that has the keywords titanic, questor imperial(either faction) or any of the various transports, flyers, or tanks. All other things can be done within the 35pl restriction. Each player will have 3 command points available to play with. There will be no reserves, or teleporting, phasing or whatever else specially lets you get onto the boards any other way than through the portals.
Multiple special characters can be used, but only 1 per army, i.e. There can be multiple Guillimans out there, just not in 1 person's list. Dreadnoughts can be taken.
This is how it will go.
At 5:30 all players on table 4's, (or their last game was on a 4) will be able to set up on the special board within 24" of that respective portal color,(this will be obvious when you get there). Chaos will be on the stairs facing and Imperials will be on the door facing. Table 3's will deploy next, then 2's, then 1's. Games that are still being played on these tables can still go on while another table is deploying, i.e. If table 1 is still in round 2 while table 4,3,2 is deploying, gameplay will continue until it's that tables turn. This is important because if you want to get a later game in on Saturday before 5:30 we will put you on a smaller number table so you can get as much of it done before the main event.
The first turn will be done by the team that has the most victory points in the map campaign. So getting in fights during January and the big game itself are important. The points will be updated as games are finished during the weekend, halfway through games will be 1/2 pointed if there is a stoppage by the time this event happens.
The victory conditions are simple.... Imperials: kill Eth Mongul, Chaos: don't let that happen.
I am available on the forum, Facebook, PM, IM, phone call, or at the store for answers to questions.

Table set ups
The 5 sites will have 4 tables in them all marked 1-4. The 4th table will always have a portal on it.
This next part will require you to have the 8th ed. Rule book.
Table 1's: The scenario will be 'Big guns never tire' And the deployment will be frontline assault.
Table 2's: The scenario will be 'Secure and control' and the deployment will be vanguard strike.
Table 3's: The scenario will be 'Retrieval mission' and the deployment will be dawn of war.
Table 4's: The scenario is 'The relic' and the deployment will be search and destroy.
Tables 1-3 will each have 4 objectives attached to them. The table 4's will have the portals as the objectives.
The areas of engagement on the map will be: Gorgon Hive, Ice Fields, Atomic Weapons Cache, Vraburogh Urban Sprawl, Shrine to the Emperor Ascendent. We will be moving armies to the sites as they are set up both before the weekend (much easier for me) and during the weekend (a bit more work for Jesse and I)
Each player needs to get 2 games in throughout the weekend.
The Necromunda boards will not have an effect on the Big Game other than to let people interested in trying out that game system have a chance to actually do it without purchasing anything. I will have a couple of already painted up gangs ready to go and since those games are rather fast games, they can be played in-between 40k games.
Special scenario's will not be affected by the above rules. They are there for peeps that aren't going to do 'specials'.

THE BIG GAME
Ok........ Finally here it is.
Welcome to the big game explanation post. There are a lot of things to go over so.... Onward!
1. Please do not SKIM READ this post. I am going to give a play-by-play on the weekend and I will need everyone's attention.
2. There will be a series of tables set up as sites of action on the map. Five (5) areas to be precise. Each area will have 4 tables each to play on. Each will be marked with a number 1-4 and one table will have a portal on it out of those 4. Necromunda will also have 2 tables devoted to it, 1 underhive, and 1 above ground board each. Lastly, there will be a large board set up for the final battle at the end of Saturday to wrap up the weekend. There will be 5 portals on this board.
3. Each player will have a chance to pre-set games on a particular board during the month of January. If you don't set up a game with anyone, don't worry, the tables will all have their own scenarios on them.
4. We are going to have a projector with the map on it that will be updated as the weekend goes on; army movement will happen as well.
5. I'm planning on dinner again on Friday, but I think I'm going to forgo the bartender this year. I've been told that it was pretty wasted money from last year's organizers.
6. T-shirts are available for everyone attending. I decided to do red vs blue for these. I hope you can figure out who gets which on your own.
7. Prize support this year will be somewhat 'higher end' than previous years. I did this for all of the work everybody has done to help me this year. Storylines, showing up to Dead Snakecon, and all around putting up with Dale bullshit for the last year, will be paid off in spades. I have personally picked out some really good stuff for everyone and the 10 portals that will be around the room are part of that. I hope you can wait to take them till after we are all done with them.
8. There will be a single 'big game' that will happen this year as well. I will be giving the who's and what's to that in a later post, but I think it could be the wildest game to date. I am letting you know that I'm planning this for Saturday 5:30 ish so that you can make sure your availability will be open for it.
9. Everyone will have a mandatory 2 games to get done during the course of the weekend. I hope that more will happen, but 2 is the mandatory amount. 75-100pl each is the table set-up parameters.
9.5. Painted figs are required. No exceptions!
10. The dates are Feb 2-4 at the Crowne Plaza off of College ave. The link for it is on the forum under 'big game 2018'.
11. The cost will be $60 a person this year. $50 of this will go for the space and the other $10 will be going into the D-co fund for use in other events. There will be 'tip' jars out that you can donate to the D-co fund as well. This money goes to future D-co costs and extras for our events.
That's enough for this post cause I know all of you are sleeping by this point. Tomorrow will have the set ups for the 5 sites, and the actual rules for the 'big game' on Saturday night.
Thanks for reading.

Recap 'Dam' battle
IMPERIAL:
The animal wasn't completely mindless. He could follow basic instructions from his handler with regularity. He wasn't the largest of the pack, or the strongest, but was only lucky enough to be chosen for this mission. His brothers and sisters had been mostly anihilated by the chaos scum his masters were warring with, and this was not new to his sensibilities. He had hundreds of siblings at their disposal and they would use them up for their wars. The wolves themselves could do nothing but comply and were happy to.
He had been tasked with his brother to seek out an explosive and return to lead his masters to it. It was supposed to be a group effort, but these things happen sometimes on the field of battle. It ended up that they were the only two beasts left and now they were combing the structure for the glory of their late masters. The other humans in this complex were pitiful creatures. He had torn out three of their throats already in his exploring and it seems that the rest had learned to be out of the great wolf's way when he was around. A blind corner was coming up and he could smell the ancient thermite of his target. No one would get in its way as he rounded the corner and sniffed around his target. A silence almost echoed in the hallway then, and the beast sniffed at the air and checked its surroundings and........ nothing. He turned back to the task and gave a long howl for his masters to come find him. Just then one of the manlings stumbled around the corner with blood coming from a severed limb. The wolf stepped up onto the machine to give battle and.................. bright light everywhere.
The space wolf commander was punishing the servants of the chaos scum. The old enemy the Night Lords had come out of nowhere, and that meant that his mission to collapse the dam was a critical one indeed. The wolves that had been sent in to find the relic, had not been heard from in some time, and he was getting ready to send in actual troops to locate the device when the ground shook. There was a flash that blinded out all the sensors. All he saw was a tremendous wall of water coming down on him from the sky. Hunh, he thought. The wolf must have set it off. The Nth chapter marines had informed him just that morning of the device, but failed to tell him of the trigger on it. He assumed that it would be complicated, but it seemed that was the wrong assumption, and it was too late now to worry about it. He closed his eyes and welcomed the site of the glorious gates of Valhalla in front of him.
Soooo....... turns out that the imperials win the game on a play where a wolf hits the destruct button on an explosive device that was put there by the Nth raptors after traveling back in time and planting the device before the dam was built. Crazy weekend.
Chaos:
This had to be the most frustrating battle he had ever been in. Ezekiel Abbadon was back in his star chambers on board his ship after the debacle at the dam. The process of information had been tainted in some way. None of his orders were being received correctly and the information that he was scrying seemed to be tainted as well. It was frustrating that the second artifact couldn't be activated. They had recovered it and that was a good thing, but he should have been able to complete the task. It seemed that the presence of the Nth chapter was more of an annoyance that it first appeared and he would have to do something about that in the future. The future............... He couldn't put his finger on what was bothering him about the future, but there was something nonetheless. No sense worrying about it now though. The reorganization process had begun and there was plenty of time to decipher what had gone wrong at the dam.
