Bill and I went at it mono e mono using 8th edition rules outright. This is far up river where the evil Death Guard are trying to contaminate the river with bulbous deaths head explosives to send down stream and take out one of the dams. The might of the ultra marines prevailed however at a terrible cost. It seems that Blightlord terminators arrived on the scene along with Lord Felthius of the 6th company. They are freaking tough! It was my first game using them as well as plague bearers. Both are remarkably resilient and can dish out a punch. The end of the game came and all that was left was Lord Felthius and a Malignant Plaguecaster, which promptly teleported out of the immediate area. They have made some long term damage to the ultra’s however. It was a great game. Bill had to throw just about everything and the kitchen sink at those 5 terminator’s........ Just 5 of them. Crazy stuff indeed.

The dam debacle.......
My friend and I are beginning to embark on a campaign, of sorts...... it will be ultramarines vs death guard for the most part. This particular set of games will be set up a little differently than others that I have been a part of. We are centering this campaign around the dam concept that I came up with last year at rock con. Instead of map making and special characters, we are going a bit more free flow. The concepts of games after the one we are playing at that time will be drawn up based upon the actual events that occur in the game we are playing. ( the short version is that we are making it up as we go along). This style will be bolstered by a few ‘new’ ideas that are flowing out of our crazy minds.... We have split the 40k universe into 2 parts, The 41rst and the 42nd millenniums. The 42nd is basically 8th edition. The 41rst is a little more varied with concepts of list building and rules effects. The rules for the 41rst will be agreed upon at the start of each game that will occur within any form of ‘weirdness’ that we both come up with at the time. Say we actually wanted to try out 8th edition with actual templates in it and no stratagems, this would be considered 41rst level of play. 8th edition would still be pl;aged within the flavor of the rules and most of the mundane rule set as agreed by whoever is playing on the dam.
We are also making up rules and story lines about the dam, villages, river, etc. that is on this board. The updates will be archived for future engagements within the parameters of which rule set we are playing. Right now, the 41rst dam has a grand total of 50 wounds, save 2+ AV-10 for the sake of if we want to actually play 1-7th edition games on it. It also sustained a wound from a misthrown krak grenade during this game and that has been archived for future events.
Other people will be involved in this ‘made as you go’ campaign hopefully. Anyway.... here’s some picts

Lord Commander Eidolon
A little break from the Death Guard to do a piece for a friend of mine. This is Lord Commander Eidolon of the Emperors Children pre heresy. This is a really cool forgeworld model for the 30K range. Lots of filigree on this one, so I got a lot of practice with my brushwork skills. I was going off of the forgeworld color scheme and I think I got pretty close. You can check their paint job out on the forgeworld site, but for a guys that does this for fun, not too bad.

Most Magnificent
I’ve finally given one of my friend Jay’s conversions justice I think. Remember that this conversion was done in the 1999’s -2001 ish era. I have just redone it with my newer painting styles. I’ve been in awe of this model for a long time. It’s going to be great seeing it on the table again (not chipped up and broken.). One note (to jay), the other tentacle broke off many moons ago. I tried for 4 days to pin and glue it back on with no avail. I adjusted the other one though for a ‘reaching out at you’ kind of feeling. Hope you all enjoy. I certainly did painting it.

I got this guy from some friends of mine at this years adepticon. It’s a really cool conversion of an old metal guy and he will fit in perfectly.
